FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

LADIES RETREAT
You asked for a whole weekend get-away, and we responded … Mark your calendars for our annual Ladies Retreat to be held again at the Eden Resort Inn and Suites in Lancaster, PA. Dates for the retreat are: February 20-22, 2009.

WOMEN’S CONFERENCE
Beth Moore Live in Deleware: October 16, 2008 at the Bob Carpenter Sports & Convocation Center of the University of Delaware in Newark.. Tickets are $35 per person. Contact Ruth Ann Bruner for more information.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) grocery bags are available in the foyer. Please fill the bag with the list of groceries on the bag and bring them to the church by October 19. These will be taken to the ACC Assembly on Oct 25.

MISSION TRIP TO THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Now is the time to start thinking about going on a Mission Trip to the Rose of Sharon Orphanage in the D.R. The dates are January 17 to 24 and January 24 to 31. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer. See Eric Nafziger for more information.

PRODUCE JUNCTION
Has the Lord abundantly blessed your garden? Leave your excess produce in the vestibule to share with others. Everyone is invited to take what they want. (Sponsored by the Care Team)

Lancaster Mennonite High School needs host families for several international students. Host families receive a monthly stipend to cover expenses. For more information contact Donna Edwards at 717-397-5455.

EDUCATION AND INSPIRATION OPPORTUNITIES

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY
A Women’s Bible Study is held on the first and third Monday of each month at 7:00 pm at the home of Sue Eby. Melba King leads the study on the book “Woman of God” by Cindy Bunch. All women are invited.

MYF (Mennonite Youth Fellowship) meets on Wednesday evenings at.
This is a time of fun and spiritual growth for youth in grades 9 to 12. This week the MYF will not meet so the youth can go to the New Holland Parade

THE WIDER BODY OF CHRIST

Lancaster Mennonite School will hold a Fall Open House on Sunday, October 12 for parents and students exploring Christian education in pre-K to grade 12. The open house is from 1 to 3 pm in the Alumni Dining Hall at the Lancaster Campus.

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Fall Assembly Celebration is October 25 at Conestoga Mennonite Church in Morgantown. Visit www.atlanticocast..nemonite.net for more information and to register (click on Relationships, and then click on ACC Events).

The Atlantic Coast Conference Mennonite Women Annual Dinner is Friday, October 24 at Conestoga Mennonite Church. Reservations are due to Ruth Ann Martin (717-656-8028) by October 16.

WOMEN AND PRESCHOOL MEETING
Monday, October 27, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm at Mellinger Mennonite Church. Gerald and Marlene Kauffman will lead the workshop with the theme, “Encouraging One Another.” Child Care is available. Cost, including lunch, is $10 per person. For more information contact Marcy High, high852@verizon.net.

CHURCH OFFICE
The church secretary office is normally open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and occasionally at other times. Ruth Ann reminds us that items for the weekly printed church bulletin need to be in the church office by Thursday of each week. You can also send your contributions to mgchurch@netzero.net.

PASTOR’S STUDY
Pastor Steve has office hours every morning except Wednesday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and occasionally at other times. Some days Pastor Steve has meetings in other places, so please call before you come to visit.
