Bio of Associate Pastor Candidate

Meet Jonathan D. Henson
Jon grew up in a ministry family; his father was a pastor in Canada and Pennsylvania and now serves in foreign mission work. Born in the USA, Jon’s family moved to Canada when he was an infant. At age 11 they moved to PA where Jon attended Mennonite elementary and junior high schools. He graduated in 2002 from Garden Spot High School. Jon was baptized at Petra Christian Fellowship, New Holland, PA in March 1996.

Following high school, Jon completed a five-month program at the Discipleship Training School of Cowboys With A Mission (CWAM) in Meeteetse, WY. One of these months was in outreach in the country of Turkey. Following this training, Jon joined the full-time staff of CWAM for a two year commitment. He served as part-time as youth pastor of Victory Fellowship Church in Cody, WY for 3 years and currently serves as part-time senior pastor of The Light of Christ Church in Powell, WY since 2008. Jon was ordained by Kingdom Expansion Ministries in June of 2008 when he began his ministry with The Light of Christ Church. Jon has great recommendations, some of which come from people well known by members of the Search Committee.

In 2005 Jon married Shelia Charles; they have a nine-month-old son, Micah. Jon’s work experience includes horseshoeing, insulation installation, framing carpenter and delivery driver for an electric supply company. Jon enjoys hunting, fishing and golf.
